telehealth counseling

The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally transformed the provision of therapy. With the ongoing pandemic, telehealth has become the safest way to provide continuous mental health care during a time when increased anxiety, isolation, and stress are being experienced. If you are unfamiliar with telehealth, it is also known as "online therapy" or "virtual therapy," which is conducted through a video call platform.

Accessing your session is simple.

I use a secure, HIPAA compliant telehealth platform created especially for healthcare professionals. It is similar to Zoom with the added privacy protection that is required for healthcare professionals. To access your session, you will receive a one-time link to my virtual "waiting room" and once you're logged on, I will be able to see that you're in my waiting room, just like in-person therapy, and admit you into the session. All you need to access your session is a tablet, phone, or computer along with a strong and stable internet connection. From there, the process of therapy is the same as in-person sessions.

There are many benefits to telehealth counseling.

The convenience and accessibility that telehealth therapy offers is perhaps one of its greatest benefits. It removes the hassle of dealing with traffic, locating the office (initially), finding parking, and the stress or anxiety of trying to make it on time to sessions. Instead, you will be in the comfort of your own space and at ease. The accessibility of telehealth expands the options prospective clients have and reaches those in geographically isolated communities. In  addition, it allows certain populations, such as college students, to continue their mental health care

despite where they may be during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another benefit of telehealth sessions is the consistency it provides, reducing the amount of missed appointments and late cancellations, which in turn, reduces cost for you. It also provides the face-to-face contact consistently during a pandemic when many are feeling lonely and isolated.  The flexibility of telehealth allows clients to schedule sessions during their lunch hour instead of being confined to before or after work hours. Lastly, during this time when we are all trying to do our part in slowing down the spread of COVID-19, telehealth is the safest way to ensure everyone's health and safety. In summary, there are a myriad of advantages to this mode of therapy.

Research has shown that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person therapy. Why not give it a try today?
